Congestive pelvic syndrome

About the pathology

What is it about?

As explained in the pathology section, pelvic congestion is caused by "symptomatic" varicose veins in the lower abdomen, around the uterus and ovaries.

Sometimes these varicose veins are the leakage point for varicose veins in the legs.

Correctly identifying the leakage point is essential for effective and long-lasting treatment of varicose veins.

What are the next steps?

In cases where treatment is necessary, complex techniques (which require the use of X-rays and are not performed in the AVENCE clinic, but in a hospital environment) such as embolisation of the ovarian veins or other branches dependent on the hypogastric veins are used. Occlusive devices such as coils, amplatzers, foam or glue are used for embolisation.

Although it is a complex treatment, the speciality of interventional radiology gives us the privileged experience and expertise to be able to offer higher guarantees than any other speciality.

Equally important is a correct diagnosis, which includes ruling out compressive syndromes such as the nutcraker (nutcracker) or May Turner (compression of the left common iliac vein by the right common iliac artery) which greatly changes the therapeutic approach to this pathology.
